Driver installation for mZdsp-2812 card

Connect the card to personal computer. After connecting the card to personal computer the operation system (e.g. OS Windows) generates a message about a new device that has been found. In case of successful driver’s installation the card is ready to operate. If OS Windows will not install the driver automatically, then it needs to be installed manually according to the instructions given below.

If the driver has not been found automatically, then it needs to be installed manually. To do it, download the driver ver. 2.08.28 from the website (http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm). Information for searching CDM20814 WHQL Certified.

After loading the driver do the following:
1. Go to menu Start.
2. Click LMB on the Computer. In the drop-down menu select «Manage»:

3. A dialog box «Computer Management» will be shown.
4. Go to «Device Manager».

5. In the device list, in sub item «Other devices».
mZdsp-2812 card is determined as FT232R USB UART (this is a microchip by means of which the connection of the card with the computer is carried out).
6. Click RMB on device FT232R USB UART.

7. Select item «Update Driver Software…».
8. In window that will be shown select item «Browse my computer for driver software»:

9. Then click button «Browse…» and select the folder with the driver.

10. Click Ok.
11. Click Next.
12. The chip driver will be installed.

Next the driver for virtual Com port needs to be installed.
13. In Device Manager new unknown device will be shown:

14. Repeat the same actions, as in the first case. Select the same folder.
After the operation completion a virtual COM-port will appear.

The driver installation is completed. You can now connect the device to the MexBIOS Development Studio.
